A Slate Drake (Isonychia) pattern for use in the late summer & fall.

This is an original pattern from my vice.

I clip all the hackle off the bottom so the fly sits flat on the film and gives a thick body profile to the fish below.  I also use a bit of flex cement to bind the antelope together at the base.

My client got multiple hits on this fly in Aug. 2008 during a solid Iso hatch.

I'm guessing that with some variations in color this would be a good pattern to match Drake hatches just about anywhere!
