This is a dealdy fly for both large and smallmouth bass. It looks and moves very realistically. You can omit the claws and it makes a very passable shrimp pattern. It can be tied in OD, Brown, Orange, or any color you can get the swiss straw in. The Swiss Straw also takes Prismacolor markers very well if you want to color it, or just add markings to match a particular species.

The claws are made by simply tying an overhand knot in a length of Swiss Straw, then trimming them to shape and size with scissors. You can coat them with Sally Hanson's Hard-As-Nails for added durability.
