Greg Brey

Greg Brey

Welcome. My name is Greg Brey and I cut my teeth on small streams in Pa. back in the early 70's. My uncle, who was an Orvis man, gave me my start in this sport. He gave me some feathers, a double A vise and it began. In '73 I became a member of a large Fish and Game club in Pa. After a few years I became a director, then in '90 I was elected VP and on to President in '91. In '91 I started a fish raising program on the grounds and it is still in operation today, raising over 3,000 - 5,000 rainbows each year.

I have been blessed to have fished in many places. But my favorite is still crawling on my hands and knees to get one crack at a feeding brown on Slate Run Pa. I still maintain a fishing camp in Wellsboro Pa.

As far as fly tying I do it for the love of the sport. I have done some seminars at local shops and tie almost everyday. Tying anything from 2/0 salt to 32 midges.

I build fly rods, graphite and bamboo, and refinish older ones as well. I have a true passion for this sport and if anyone needs any help with anything I will be glad to help. Greg Brey AKA ablereel
