No, this is not truly a swap. We're tying for a purpose without expectation of a return in-kind. Four times a year we'll spend two months tying and I'll spend a month sorting and shipping; then we'll do it again. Why? Because we can. Vist the swap forum for more information.

Casting For Recovery

Visit CFR

Casting for Recovery is a non-profit support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer.

CFR Provides weekend retreats for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by the disease to gather in a beautiful, natural setting and learn fly-fishing, "a sport for life." Just as importantly, we offer an opportunity to meet new friends and have fun. These retreats incorporate counseling, educational services and the sport of fly-fishing to promote mental and physical healing. Learn more by visiting Casting For Recovery.

WQW was started in early 2007 and hosts therapeutic fly fishing trips for service men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Learn more by visiting Warriors and Quiet Waters.

How often do we take for granted our ability to engage in this wonderful sport of fly tying and fly fishing? For me? Always. In fact I never think twice about it. Never wondering what it would be like if I could not experience the frustrated peace of standing empty handed in a river surrounded by fish. There-in lies the problem. It's time to give while I can to someone who will appreciate it more than I ever will. Will you join me?
