Description:
This fly is an old time hair wing by Lew Oatman of Shushan, NY on the Battenkill River. I'm a big Oatman fan. I grew up about 15 miles downstream of Shushan so his creations are one of my flyfishing passions. Besides, I seem to have an endless supply of red squirrels that need to be "erradicated" from the homestead.
An excellent streamer any place where golden shinners are a food source.

The old timers would be proud of you Doublehaul. That is one nice baitfish imitation. Very nice taper on the body, perfect shoulder placement and a solid, well formed head.
I recently received a copy of "Carrie Stevens: Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies" by Mr. Hilyard as a gift from a friend and have since become a big fan of the old time East Coast streamers.
Keep up the great work!
