The Stimulator is one great all around fly. I've read that it wasn't designed to imitate any particular bug, but it works just fine as a hopper, a salmonfly, or large caddis (especially the October Caddis we have here in Oregon).

If you're on the west side of the Rockies, you'll find a time and place where this fly should always be in your fly box!
