Jim,

That\'s some Silver/Grey Squirrel tail for the wing. The 6 flies I tie in the \"Clash\" series all use a \"native\" critter hair for the wings. The McKenzie and Santiam have Silver/Grey Squirrel. The Dechutes, Umpqua and Skykomish use Skunk. The Kalama has woodchuck.

Jim .............. lol, good one.....................

I did consider doing one of each for the swap, but it\'s way easier to gear up and do a batch of the same one. Guess you\'ll just have to host 5 more steelhead swaps if you want the whole series.

I haven\'t hooked a steelhead on one of them yet, but the native cutthroats sure like them. Also got a couple hits on the McKenzie Clash (Blue) last fall by some coastal Coho salmon.

I\'ve changed the pattern a bit since I took those photos last fall. I\'m using slightly shorter body hackle and thinning the collar by stripping one side of the waterfowl flank feather. It rides better in the water and lets the floss body stand out a little more.

I hope you all like them.

Dave
