Although born in England, Simon Graham grew up in South Africa where he lived for over 25 yrs. After completing his schooling at Durban High School, he then spent 2 years with the South African Defense force & and a further 3 years with an anti pouching unit based in the northern part of the Kruger game reserve.
Having been an avid saltwater fly-fisherman there for many years, he eventually moved back to the UK in 95 where he used it as a base for him to fund his fly-fishing and birding travels around the globe and has been fortunate to have fly-fished and watched birds in several European countries as well as Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Costa Rica & even in Russia in the famous Wilderness of Vodlosersky national park. During down times between travels, Simon became hooked on fly-fishing for pike and plied his trade in the England Scotland, Ireland and also the Netherlands.
In 2004 while traveling around Scandinavia namely Denmark, Sweden and then Finland, he saw the great potential Finland had in terms of fly-fishing for pike and instantly fell in love with the country. 3 months later he’d packed in his job as a building maintenance engineer and enrolled on the International wilderness guide course held in Kuru where he eventually passed and now runs Baltic pike tours on Replot island found in the world natural heritage site of Kvarken.
He is also part of the Eumer pro staff team and is heavily involved at present in developing and testing a specific range of pike tube fly accessories for them. For more info visit his popular blog Pike Flyfishing Articles
