Bart Lombardo has been fly fishing and fly tying for over thirty years. While it was his love of trout fishing that originally sparked his interest in fly fishing, he now pursues everything that swims with a fly rod.
As a fly tier, Bart has developed original patterns but enjoys adapting existing patterns to meet specific needs and conditions. Specializing in Euro nymphing, many of his nymph patterns have a European influence. Bart has also been experimenting with Tenkara, a Japanese style of fly fishing utilizing a long rod and no reel. He has been developing original fly patterns for this style of fishing for several years now. Recently, he has developed an east meets west approach to fly fishing by adopting Tenkara equipment and Euro nymphing techniques to create a truly unique fishing system. Forever a student of fly fishing, in addition to seeking out the latest trends in the sport he is also interested in forgotten methods such as fishing and tying wet flies.
Bart is passionate about all things relating to fly fishing and fly tying. As part of his desire to educate and share information he started the Jersey Angler Blog,a blog devoted to fly fishing and fly tying for all species of fish.
